The Consultation
The Consultation is where everything begins and is vital for establishing expectations and ensuring that the final results of your solar project are met. Being prepared for the consultation will help make the most of everyone’s time. Be sure to:
- Make sure ALL parties that will be a part of the decision-making process are present and schedule enough time to ensure that everything gets covered; we suggest 1 ½ – 2 hours. We assure you that taking the time that’s needed to fully understand your options is time well spent.
- Have a current copy of your Utility bill available for review. We can also review any competitive bids to help you understand the differences and help you choose the best option for your situation.
Site Survey
Now that your SEC Consultant has helped you select the best option for your system, we will schedule a time for an on-site survey. The site survey specialist will inspect and assess the following:
- Measurement of your roof and the available space and sunlight that strikes it.
- Inspection of your electrical system for solar compatibility in its existing state.
- Verify the structural integrity of your roof to support the weight of the system.
Design and Permits
Once the site survey is completed our solar engineers go to work and prepare a CAD or “blueprint” design for your project.
- We use this design to Permit your project with local Government agencies and, if required, work with your Homeowner’s Association (HOA).
- Permit fees are always included in our quote.
- Each customer is assigned to a SEC project coordinator to keep you updated throughout your project. We are BIG on communication so don’t hesitate to ask any questions you have along the way.
Construction
We’re now ready for the final steps in the process, the installation, inspections and POWER ON!
- Your Project Coordinator will call and schedule an installation date that works for your household.
- The installation of the solar system should be completed within one to two days. Final inspections and permission to oporate can take up to three to four weeks depending on the City and Utility schedules, you’ll then start producing your own power, saving money and reducing your carbon footprint.
- We’ll be here to support you through the process and for the life of the system.
